TRILOBITE FOSSIL - STERLING SILVER - ADJUSTABLE RING

Recognized by their distinctive, three-segmented form, a trilobite is a bi-laterally symmetrical arthropod; an invertebrate animal with an exoskeleton, segmented body, and jointed appendages (much like a crustacean or spider).
Exclusively belonging to the marine kingdom, they first appeared at the beginning of the Cambrian Period, about 542 million years ago.
Today, they are frequently used for stratigraphic correlations assisting in determining the ago of a given layer of sediment where they are found.
