Item: Uncut certified Columbian Emerald- Found on Hutchinson Island, Ft Pierce, Florida. Some encrustation is still visible on the Emerald. The Emerald has been mounted in a 14K Gold frame with diamond accents.

Area Recovered: Found on Hutchinson Island, Ft Pierce, FL. The item is consistent with known examples from a wide variety of shipwreck sites. All well known provenance is stated on the certificate of authenticity. In addition to the 1715 Fleet, many earlier and later wrecks also dot the area.
History: In the early morning of July 31, 1715, a hurricane on the east coast of Florida sank 11 of 12 galleons that were part of a large Spanish treasure fleet as they where on there way back to Spain. The tragedy gave name to what is now known as the "Treasure Coast". The Fleet sank carrying tons of gold, silver, raw emeralds, jewelry, fine porcelain; along with other precious commodities. It remains to this day, the greatest maritime disaster in Florida History.
